Franciscan friary founded by Aod Ruadh (mac Néill Gairbh) Ó Domhnaill (d. 1505) and his mother, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, in 1474. The friary was largely demolished in 1601 during the siege of Donegal by Aodh Ruadh (mac Aodha) Ó Domhnaill. Some years later, a house of refuge was set up near the Drowes, near Ballyshannon.
